Clutter doesn’t appear overnight. It creeps in, one “I’ll keep this just in case” at a time. A simple weekend ritual can keep it under control.
Pick just one area per weekend. It could be a drawer, one shelf, the dining table, or a corner that always collects bags and bills. Don’t try to declutter the whole house in a day; that’s how people burn out and quit.
Set a 20–30 minute timer. During that time, sort items into three quick categories: keep, throw, and donate/give away. Try not to overthink every single thing.
Create “no clutter zones” in your home—like the centre of the dining table, the top of the TV unit, or your bed. These areas must be cleared at the end of each weekend, no excuses.
Paper is a big culprit. Regularly go through old bills, flyers, and boxes. Take photos of important information if needed and recycle the rest.
Done consistently, these small rituals stop clutter from becoming a huge project. Your future self will thank you.
